Tenor Samson Chow graduated Master of Music in vocal studies at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts under the tutelage of celebrated soprano Prof. Nancy Yuen. He received Cecil Leong Scholarship. He obtained his Bachelor of Music (First Class Honours) from the Hong Kong Baptist University. He studied vocal music with Purssic Yu, Caleb Woo, Jimmy Chan, Phillip Chu and Stephen Ng. Chow has appeared in masterclasses by Prof W. Dwight Coleman, Paul Phoniex and Michael Chance. He also staged in many opera productions with the HKAPA, the Interharmony International Music Festival and Musica Viva Limited, including (Dr Caius) Falstaff, (Rinuccio) Gianni Schicchi, (Don Curzio) Le Nozze di Figaro, (Nemorino) L’Elisir d’Amore and (First priest, First armoured man)Die Zauberflöte. He received a special commendation, from Stadt Sulzbach-Rosenberg in 2019, “Auch der gediegene Tenor von Samson Chow (Rinuccio) war ein Genuss.” He also performed as a soloist in cantatas and masses by Bach, Buxtehude, Haydn and Mozart. Chow has been serving as an adjunct lecturer, voice teacher, and choral conductor at Hong Kong Open university, various music institutes, churches and local schools.
